ADORATION OF THE BLESSED SACRAMENT: Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament at the Sacred Heart Church, Wadhurst, takes place for an hour before Mass on the First Friday of each month FEASTS: 2 Thursday – Feast: The Presentation of the Lord (Candlemas) 11 Saturday – Mem: Our Lady of Lourdes. World Day of Prayer for the Sick 14 Tuesday – Feast: St Cyril, Monk, and St Methodius, Bishop. Patrons of Europe 21Tuesday – Shrove Tuesday. Mem: St Robert Southwell, SJ, Priest and Martyr 22 Wednesday – Ash Wednesday, first day of Lent, a day of FAST &ABSTINENCE. There will be the blessing and imposition of ashes. *During Lent we prepare for Easter by prayer, penance and the recalling of our baptismal vows. The liturgy also prepares catechumens* (those seeking to enter the Church) byseveral stages of Christian Initiation (RCIA) who will be received into full communion at Easter. There will be a COLLECTION for the Catholic Education Service on Sunday January5th; and on Sunday 19th there will be a COLLECTION for the Cabrini Children’s Society which is also a Day of Prayer for the Unemployed. The Pope’s Mission Intention for February: That the Lord may strengthen health workers assisting the sick and elderly in the poorest regions of the world.
