Working together to share the love of God with those around
us
United services, Lent study groups, Songs of Praise,
Harvest lunch
and regular evening services
It’s appropriate, isn’t it, to see the harvest as the climax of the year? After all the preparation of ploughing, seeding, nurturing and reaping to celebrate the time when ‘all is safely gathered in’ and to thank God that, once again, provision has been made for the dark days of winter.
In the church’s year and in CTIW activities there is something of the same pattern. By the time you read this the CTIW Harvest Lunch will be just around the corner (Sun 5 Oct) and always a happy time of fellowship and celebration. Then we have to look forward to the Day of Thanksgiving thinking of the traumas of war, gratitude to those who gave so much and care for those who still suffer. Then, with Advent Sunday on Nov 30th we start the cycle again.
But the regular evening services on the second Sunday of each month will continue. In September we have been thinking about the Religious Society of Friends, on Oct 12th we shall be hearing about the Eastern Orthodox Church and in November it will be the turn of the Baptists. Also on Oct 12th the CTIW Annual Reports will be given - an opportunity for anyone to ask questions and make suggestions and we thank all those who have done so in the past - CTIW is intended for everyone in Wadhurst, Stonegate and Tidebrook.
As always, everyone is welcome at all CTIW events and we look forward to seeing you soon! Janice Anstey
