The Wadhurst Warriors is a group of dads from Wadhurst and the surrounding villages, whose aim is to raise money for local youth groups whilst also providing community based events throughout the year for the enjoyment of the residents of Wadhurst and the local area.
So far during 2011, we’ve helped set up and run the Wadhurst Country Fair, entered a team in the London to Brighton BHF bicycle ride, took part in the Dragon Boat Festival at Bewl Water (coming 2nd) and, for the fourth year running, organised the Wadhurst Bonfire and Fireworks Extravaganza.
Over the last 3 years we have helped raise over £7,000, which was distributed among local groups, including Wadhurst Primary School, Scouts, Uplands College and the Rainbow Trust Childrens Charity. We also help other local groups and schools by organising events where they run a stall and raise money for themselves.
As a group of dads, we also enjoy social events throughout the year, usually in the local pubs, and get together to training for the events. We are always looking for more help to arrange these events, not only for our families but for yours too, and to make Wadhurst a lively and active village community. So if you'd like to get involved and join us, please visit website and drop us a line.
