Volunteers Wanted!

"Homecall", a registered charity providing volunteer visitors for blind and partially sighted people, require two volunteer visitors for local residents. One client is an elderly gentleman, a stroke victim, would like to have a gentleman visitor who would be happy to read to him from his National Geographic magazine. The other person is an elderly registered partially sighted lady from Stonegate who would be happy to have a male or female visitor and if the person interested is an ex-serviceman, all the better! This lady needs assistance with reading, post, correspondence etc, requiring one hour's assistance per week.

The Homecall Scheme pays all car petrol expenses at 32p per mile, plus any other out-of-pocket expenses whilst carrying out this worthwhile job. Anyone who would like to help in this way, please contact Jackie Sharpe 01825 765308 co-ordinator for Wealden, or Sue Richardson 01424 429 515 for Rural Rother, for further details.
