Replacement dwelling (revised design and layout)

We support this application providing that the tennis court is not floodlit, but would point out that the dressing room window on plan does not accord with the elevation.

WD/2008/1500/F  Ivy Chimneys, Faircrouch Lane
One/two storey side extensions, raising of height of roof over dressing room/en suite bathroom and replacement of existing conservatory with single storey garden room.

No objection.

WD/2008/1423/F  Garden of 1 Jonas Cottages, Jonas Lane
2 No flats within garden, demolish single garage. Provide 7 No.car parking spaces and re-route existing right of way

We approve this application in principle subject to clarification of the parking arrangements as the drawings only indicate 6 car parking spaces ,of which 1 appears to be inaccessible

WD/2008/1288/F  Old Beeches, Turners Green Road
Two storey front extension, single storey side extension and internal alterations

We generally support this application with the exception of the ill considered utility room which aesthetically leaves much to be desired and would be improved if rotated through 90 degrees

WD/2008/1501/F  South Park Lodge, Mayfield Lane
Demolish existing conservatory at the rear of the house and replace it with a new one of a reduced size. First floor extension above conservatory.

No objection but would question the description “conservatory” as technically it is a “garden room”  and therefore would have to comply with Building Regulations

Wd/2008/1392/LB  Wadhurst Institute, High Street
Formation of new doorway in existing partition on first floor and installation of fire alarm system

See previous comments in our report dated 31 May 2008

WD/2008/1079/F  Plantbase, Sleepers Stile Road Cousley Wood
Stationing of one mobile home for 3 Years to accommodate nursery manager

We strongly object as a mobile home would result in an undesirable and unjustified consolidation of existing scattered development in the locality which would be visually  intrusive  and would fail to conserve or enhance the natural beauty and landscape character of this designated High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

The applicant must clearly have aware of the disadvantages of the absence of a dwelling on the site at the time he purchased it and it would appear that the main reason for a dwelling is to  enable him to maximise the profit. It is therefore considered that this end could well be achieved by investing in appropriate technical improvements.

It is understood that it is the District Council’s policy not to approve applications for mobile homes unless it would be prepared to approve a permanent home at the end of the 3 year period. Clearly this would also be unacceptable as the site is well outside any development boundary

Finally, the Design Statement refers to a 11M x 4M home whereas the drawing indicates a 9.14M x 3.8M
