Our Village
Following the success of the hanging basket displays last year the
council has installed additional baskets in the High Street - grey
water is used to keep the displays looking good. Thanks go to the
Gardening Club for planting up the flower tubs in the High Street and
to the many shop keepers and residents who help with watering duties.
Calling all bookworms
Magpie kindly donates the proceeds from the sale of second hand books
towards the floral displays in the High Street - keep reading!!
Four new conservation style litter bins have been installed in the High
Street to replace the previous concrete bins - the new bins are
considered to be more appropriate in this Conservation Area.
 Our ducks
Two new ducks were installed at the pond in Jardin d'Aubers in the
Spring but only one now remains. However, he/she seems happy and
healthy, if a little lonely!
The Jardin d'Aubers is an area of land leased by the Parish Council from the Fire Service for the enjoyment of residents.
Community Grants
The Parish Council has a small fund to support organisations which
improve the village's facilities and quality of life. In recent years
the council has helped to improve the Wadhurst Scouts' hut, helped with
set up costs for the Arts' Festival, supported the Bonfire display and
the Junior Football club and helped fund charities working in the
village.

Tennis

Wadhurst Tennis Club had its planning permission for
floodlighting set aside as unlawful but nevertheless continues to enjoy
enthusiastic support. Its junior training sessions and 'Back to Tennis'
campaigns have been particularly successful.
